Last week, Woodford Primary was full of excitement as World Book Day celebrations took over the school!
Pupils dressed up as characters from their favourite books to mark the occasion.
World Book Day is a campaign that changes lives through a love of books and reading.
Everybody was dressed to impress and loved showing off their costumes to each other.
Pupils in Pre-School enjoyed guessing which characters their peers had dressed up as. 
They spent the day sharing stories and discussing their favourite books.
In Reception, pupils spent the day discovering new books and characters.
During a Shared Reader session, the children practised reading with expression and discovered how this can make books even more exciting!
It wasn’t just the pupils who were in costume though, staff came in dressed as their favourite characters too!
This inspired lots of interesting conversations about different stories and gave every child the chance to share their opinion on what makes a good book.
Reading is a crucial part of the curriculum at Woodford Primary School.
Our theme for the Spring Term is ‘Hope’ and learning will be inspired by our Spring Bookshelf.
