As we close our doors for the summer holidays, it’s the perfect moment to reflect on an extraordinary year at Woodford Primary School (WPS).
From academic achievements to unforgettable experiences, our pupils have truly made the most of every opportunity.
Here are just some of the highlights that defined our year!
Author Visit
We loved meeting author Sheena Garg who wrote, “Myra Plays Holi” which she came to read to us. It helped our children understand more about the Indian Festival of colours – Holi. We even got to experience a splash of colour.
Eid Celebrations
We’ve enjoyed learning about Eid-al-Fitr celebrated by Muslims when they end Ramadan. Children recalled; “they only eat at nighttime… they break their fast with a meal… wear special clothes to celebrate… stand on mats to pray.”
Food Bank Challenge
As part of our broader curriculum, at Woodford Primary School, we have held a Food Bank Challenge. These opportunities are significant in developing our pupils understanding of the wider world.
Sports Day
All the children showed great perseverance and energy at our recent Sports Day. Well done to Magnus for being the champions this year!
